The Waiting Room is a monthly mail club created in Bangkok, Thailand, celebrating the ordinary moments, places, traditions, food, and culture that make this city—and this country—feel like home.

Bangkok is always moving. There are crowded streets, rainy afternoons, early breakfasts, holidays, street vendors, traffic jams, quiet neighborhoods, and millions of little moments happening in between.

But sometimes, the best way to notice a place is to slow down.

That's where The Waiting Room began.


Why "The Waiting Room"?

We spend a surprising amount of our lives waiting.

Waiting in traffic. Waiting for the rain to stop. Waiting for our food. Waiting for the train. Waiting for the next holiday. Waiting for something new to begin.

The Waiting Room is about finding beauty and meaning in those ordinary moments.

Each month, we choose a new theme inspired by life in Thailand and turn it into a small collection of original artwork, stories, stickers, postcards, and other surprises.

Then we put it all in an envelope and send it from Bangkok to you.

No algorithm. No scrolling.

Just something real to open, hold, collect, and enjoy.

Loma Sittichot

Hi, I'm Loma, a Thai artist and graphic designer, born and raised in Bangkok. I've had the opportunity to visit many cities around the world, but Bangkok has always been the place my heart belongs. I love the little details of everyday Thai life—the things that can feel completely ordinary when you live here, but become special when you slow down long enough to notice them.

I started The Waiting Room because I wanted a new way to share the place I call home. Instead of creating just one illustration at a time, I wanted to tell stories through art, writing, and little things you can actually hold in your hands. Each month gives me a chance to explore something different—food, neighborhoods, seasons, traditions, everyday routines, or simply the small moments that make Thailand feel like Thailand. The Waiting Room is my invitation for you to slow down, look a little closer, and experience a piece of Thailand with me—wherever in the world you may be.

From Bangkok, With Love

Every edition of The Waiting Room begins here in Thailand. One month might take you to a Bangkok breakfast table. Another might capture the rainy season, a busy street, a Thai holiday, or something completely unexpected. You don't have to live in Bangkok to experience a little bit of it. We'll send some your way.
